This section of the website lists all the Ticket, Pass, and Fare information for all services provided by MTA.
The Farebox will not make cash change. An MTA fare card will be issued by the farebox as change for a future ride. Bus operators cannot make change and are prohibited from handling your fare. Passengers must deposit cash into the farebox. Day pass is valid for all MTA routes, all day.

*Passengers 65 years of age or older as well as those with a Medicare or MTA Half Fare ID card are eligible.
**The MTA is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets or monthly passes.

Half Fare Ridership Policy
Passengers riding for half-fare must present to the driver an MTA identification card (ID) or a Medicare card (not a Medicaid card). To obtain an MTA ID card, please come down to the MTA for a photo between 8 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. You will also need some documentation with you.
If you are 65 years of age or older, you will need something documenting your birthday. This includes a birth certificate, picture ID with age or birth date, or Medicare card.
If you are disabled , you will need to fill out our physician verification form or present a Medicare card.
The cost for an MTA ID card is $2.00 for residents and $10.00 for non-residents.
The MTA does not have transfers. If you need to ride more than three buses in a day, please purchase a day pass.
