School Bus

School bus drivers transport America’s most precious passengers. This is an ideal opportunity for stay-at-home parents, retirees, or anyone looking for some extra income. Come join our team of part-time employees for field trips and school routes. We even offer the extensive training required to obtain your commercial driver’s license (CDL-B).

Salary
-Training: $12.00/Hour
-Starting Salary: $17.69/Hour
-Six-Months: $18.67/Hour
-One-Year: $19.52/Hour

Benefits
-25-35 hours/week.
-All employees receive an annual $2,000.00 retention bonus paid in $200.00 increments over 10 months.
-Applicants who already hold CDL-B, Airbrake, Passenger, and SBC certifications receive $500.00 ($250.00 after six months, $250.00 after one year).
-Eight (8) paid holidays, one (1) paid snow day.
-Perfect attendance bonuses.
-Opportunity to become a full-time transit operator.
-No cleaning, sweeping, or fueling.
-Physical and drug testing paid by the MTA.
-Ability to bring your children to work.

Responsibilities
-Transport students to and from school in a safe, caring manner.
-Conduct a complete vehicle safety check before and after use.
-Attend and participate in safety meetings.

Optional extra work: school field trips and commercial charters.

Qualifications
Successful applicants must:
-Be 18 years of age or older.
-Hold a valid driver’s license for a minimum of two years.
-Have an excellent driving history (more than three recorded moving violations during the past two years will disqualify your application).
-Bring a current copy of their Motor Vehicle Record.
-Read and speak English sufficiently.
-Pass a DOT physical examination in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
-Pass a DOT drug/alcohol screening in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
-Pass a New Hampshire criminal background check.
-Be a high school graduate or have a GED.

Please note that anyone applying for a job as a bus operator must inform the MTA of all previous employment as the driver of a commercial vehicle within the last 10 years.

Driver
This is a great opportunity to step into a Spare Transit Operator position, leading to full-time work.

Salary
-Training: $12.00/Hour
